Foundation Learning

Entry and Level 1 of the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) is described as Foundation Learning.

Re-development of units and qualifications in Foundation Learning will be ongoing to 2010 when there will be a suite of Progression Pathways. These are clear stepping stones, made up of credit-based qualifications and units from the QCF, that will enable learners to access a first full Level 2 programme or will enable them to develop the skills necessary for living independently.
